K3 Frame Extension System

K3 Frame Extension System

The K3 Spyder Frame features a reversible frame extension system, offering the ability to easily change the frame height by 1.5" in a matter of seconds. A shorter frame offers increased mobility while hiking, glassing, and hunting with lighter loads. A taller frame provides increased performance with heavier loads.

Thanks to the K3 Frame's new reversible extension system, you can harness the advantages of increased mobility with a shorter frame and increased load-performance of a taller frame, as needed.

The K3 Frame is offered in a Short size, which adjusts from 24-25.5" with the reversible frame extension, and a Tall size, which adjusts from 25-26.5" with the reversible frame extension.

How To Adjust Frame Height

Step 1: Separate the K3 frame upper from the K3 frame lower by removing the velcro connection holding the two frame sections together behind the lumber pad.

Step 2: Slide the frame upper out of the frame lower, exposing the reversible frame extensions. When the long end of the extension is inserted into the frame (left side in the photo below), the Short frame will have a height of 24" and the Tall frame will have a height of 25". When the extension is reversed and the short end of the extension is inserted into the frame (right side in the photo below), the Short frame will have a height of 25.5" and the Tall frame will have a height of 26.5"

Step 3: With the extensions set at the desired position, slide the frame upper into the frame lower and re-secure the velcro connection to mate the frame upper and frame lower together.

Torso Adjustment

If you change the frame height setting using the reversible extensions, you will also need to adjust the torso height setting by moving the shoulder harness up/down the frame. Move the shoulder harness DOWN one setting if you have increased the frame height, or UP one setting if you have decreased the frame height.
