The K3 Lumbar Kit provides a way to customize the feel of the Lumbar in your K3 Frame. The K3 Lumbar Kit consists of two items: Dense K3 Lumbar Foam and an additional K3 Lumbar Shim. The K3 Frame comes with one lumbar insert installed, but by installing an additional insert you can increase lumbar pressure, if desired. The Dense K3 Lumbar Foam will offer a firmer feeling that some pack users prefer, and can also reduce sag for people whose body type requires more lumbar pressure.

Makes a Difference!!

I've had my K3 4800 for two years and really have never had slippage issues, even with a heavy pack. I did always get some slight pain in my upper butt with heavy loads though, so purchased this mostly to tinker and see what worked best. Just finished a 5 day hunt of 50+ miles with the new set up and not once did I have pain anywhere! Worth every penny to make a great pack even better!

It Works!

If you cant feel much pressure on your lumbar and your pack tries to slide down while hiking get this kit. I followed all the pack fitting videos from Exo but a 25 pound pack would not stay without an uncomfortable amount of belt tension. This is exactly what I needed. I squeezed three shims plus the dense foam in my K3 and I feels great now. I have good pressure on my lumbar and the hip belt stays right where I want it without any discomfort or slippage.
