Exo Experience — A Photo Story Contest

For all of us at Exo, the experience is the most important part of the hunt.

The experience may be the thrill of an elk bugling, the stalking of an unknowing mule deer, an epic sunrise from a mountain vista, the challenge of pushing through difficult conditions and testing your limits, a heavy pack-out at the end of a successful hunt, and even all of the pre-planning that happens leading up to a backcountry adventure.

While trophy photos are great, we love to see ALL aspects of the hunt's story captured and shared, so we are inviting you to show us a hunt story from your 2025 season for a chance to win some great prizes.

SHOW YOUR STORY

Show the grind, the miles, the country, and the highs and the lows. Strive to capture meaningful moments with creativity and authenticity. Let your photos carry the weight of the story and prove what the hunt was really about.

You don’t need a professional camera — your phone works just fine!

We will be selecting a winner for each of the following categories. Each winner will be chosen based on creativity, execution, and the quality of the images and story. This is NOT a trophy contest.

PHOTO CATEGORIES

  • Best Photo Story: The submission that best captures a complete hunt story, using up to 10 photos to show the story.
  • Best Pack Photo: We love seeing creative captures of our products being put to use on all types of hunts. We will pick our single favorite pack photo for this category.
  • Best Moment Captured: A single photo that captures a "moment" well — whether that moment is camaraderie or emotion on the hunt, a wild animal encounter, an epic landscape, or something else altogether.

PRIZE PACKAGES

The winner of each category will receive...

  • A feature on the Exo Mtn Gear website and social media channels
  • An invitation to share the hunt story on The Hunt Backcountry Podcast
  • An optics kit, consisting of SIG ZULU6 image-stabilizing binos with a Marsupial Bino Harness
  • A cash prize of $2,500 for Best Photo Story, $1,250 for Best Pack Photo, and $1,000 for Best Moment Captured.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR...

  • Variety: Don’t just show the kill; show the people, the place, the elements, and other aspects of the entire hunt.
  • Details: Packs, gear, rifles, boots, blood on the hands. The little things matter.
  • Location: Show us the terrain, the weather, the fine details, and the vastness of the place that tested you.
  • Personality: Capture the emotion, grit, and character of you and your crew.
  • Creativity: Unique angles, perspective, and lighting. Think beyond the grip-and-grin.
  • Presentation: Packs look properly loaded, compression straps secure, and nothing “sloppy” or hanging off the pack.
  • Story Flow: Does your series of photos feel like a hunt from start to finish?


CONTEST DETAILS

Entries accepted through December 1st, 2025. Winners will be selected and notified via email in December 2025. The winner must respond to confirm their eligibility within 30 days of notification.

Any photographs submitted must be original and shall not infringe on the rights of any third party, or violate any agreement between you and a third party. By submitting your photo, you provide non-exclusive rights for Exo Mtn Gear to publish, use, distribute, reproduce, and publicly display that photograph and any accompanying caption, story, and likeness in perpetuity for promotional purposes. Exo Mtn Gear will not publish or share your full name or other personal data unless written consent is expressly provided.

This contest is open to all Exo Mtn Gear customers. The photos must be from a hunt in the 2025 calendar year. If you have multiple hunts (each tag that represents the opportunity to harvest a single animal is a "hunt"), you may submit a story for each hunt, but multiple entries cannot be sumitted for the same hunt/tag.
