Fitting & Adjustment for K4 Pack Systems
HOW TO FIT YOUR K4 PACK SYSTEM
The K4 Frame not only features size-specific hip belts and four frame height options (Which size do you need?), it also features micro-adjustability that enable the frame to be adjusted to fit your unique shape and size. Thankfully, the process to fit and adjust K4 Pack Systems is incredibly easy.
Load your pack with 25-35lbs, then follow these steps..
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR FITTING & ADJUSTMENT
- FIRST, LOOSEN EVERYTHING. Before you put the pack on, be sure that the hipbelt, sternum strap, shoulder harness, and load-lifters adjustments each have some slack in them. This should not only be done the first time you put the pack on — it should be done each time you put the pack on.
- THE ORDER MATTERS. As outlined in the video, the proper way to put the pack on and make adjustments follows a very specific order — hipbelt position and tension, then the sternum strap across your chest, then the shoulder harness, and finally, the load-lifters. Following this process in order is really important to allow the pack to fit, feel, and function as it should.
- ASSESS & ADJUST. As mentioned in the video, don't be afraid to make adjustments — even during a hike. As you are getting used to the pack, don't be afraid to make small minor changes in the harness-to-frame positioning. Those small changes can make a big difference in the fit and feel. Once you find your "sweet spot" on some test hikes, you won't need to tinker during your hunt.
