"I just got done washing my frame and pack after an awesome final backcountry hunt of the season, and I noticed that the velcro on the frame panel (where my shoulder straps attach) has begun to separate from the frame.

What are the next steps to get this fixed?

As you can see from the count on my frame, the pack has been loyal to me in the mountains. It is an original K2 that my wife bought me brand new for my wedding gift in 2018.

Thanks for building killer products! I have converted all of my hunting crew to Exo packs over the years, as they have seen how well mine has performed, felt the comfort of my pack loaded heavy, and witnessed how it continues to perform year after year."

After 7 years and 20 heavy packouts, we made some very quick and simple stitching repairs to keep Cody’s K2 pack going strong for another season of heavy use. (Learn more about our warranty.)

After seeing the tally marks of packouts on Cody’s frame (header photo above), we asked if he had any photos to share. And boy, did he have photos! We can’t share them all, but here are some highlights…

After getting his K2 repaired, Cody shared this with us…

“I keep telling myself with each new version that I will upgrade, but my K2 has just been so solid and a joy to pack with. I haven’t upgraded yet, but I will eventually — if my trusty K2 ever decides enough is enough.

I have definitely missed a couple of animal tally marks over the years, but man, the pack has been a part of so many backcountry backpack hunts and brutal packouts. It has been used heavily for training with Quikcrete and weights in the off-season. This pack has been a part of so many other trips that didn’t end with a hash mark on the frame, but were still some great memories and adventures.

Keep doing what you guys are doing and I will be an Exo lifer.”

In the 8 years since Cody received his K2, we relentlessly focused on making each new pack we release better than the last.

We refined and improved on the K2 packs when we released K3 Packs in 2019.

Then we spent 3+ years of development and testing (with 150 hunters involved in the testing), before finally releasing the all-new K4 Pack Systems.

With our current K4 Pack Systems, we have been able to greatly increase strength, performance, and versatility, without adding additional weight.

As Cody’s story has shown, our packs are built to perform. And built to last.
