What's In My Pack? — Elk Hunting

Jake Saenz of Atomic Athlete shares the gear he packs for a 20-day elk hunting trip in Colorado. Jake establishes a backcountry basecamp for the 20-day trip, then takes shorter day hunts and overnight bivy trips away from basecamp. Jake uses the Exo Mtn Gear 5500 pack, allowing him to seamlessly transition from a large pack for multiple days to a compressed daypack for quick day trips from basecamp.

Corey Jacobsen of Elk101.com shares the gear he packs for “fast and light” elk hunting. Corey isn’t packing for multi-day overnight trips and uses the Exo Mtn Gear 2000 Pack System for his day hunts

Mark Huelsing of Exo Mountain Gear shares the gear he packs for backpack-style elk hunting in September archery seasons. Mark uses the 3500 Pack System and has a base pack weight of 18lbs, or a total with food and fuel for a 4-day hunt of 26lbs.
