Smaller frame system, full-size performance.

Our EXS ("extra short") Pack System was developed to offer a hunting pack for women (and youth) that are looking for a quality frame pack without making sacrifices in fit, function, performance, or capabilities.

The EXS System shares the same features, materials, and design as our K4 Pack Systems, but is offered in a shorter, 22" frame height, and also features a thinner and more contoured shoulder harness, which fits the female's upper body and chest better.

NOTE — The 2200 does not include a K4 Lid, whereas the 3600 and 5500 do include a lid by default. You can add a K4 Lid and K4 Lid Strap Set if you would like to use a Lid with the 2200.

Tried and True

I bought this pack as an all around adventure pack after I heard about Exo mountain from Jesse at Geartrade and has it ever performed! I took it on a thru hike of 165km over 7 days carrying 45lbs all day and did not dread putting on the pack. Done many day hikes with it and it packs down nice.

After a forgotten sleeping bag left me to pack a huge synthetic one I found the 5000 bag too small and borrowed a 7200 bag from a friend. Using the 7200 on my EXS frame did not seam to phase it. The total pack weight was 70lbs and it felt just as stable as if I had my 5000 bag on. Took a second to get used to the slight differences in bags but once changed I might be ordering a 7200 bag for my frame. Normally 7200 is big for me but it packs down to the same size at the 5000 and I enjoy having the extra fabric to be able to roll it down and feel I can cinch it down better with the extra room. With the 2oz difference between bags having that extra room is a nice option. The exterior pockets on the 7200 are also bigger which is a bonus. I enjoyed the large lid on the pack and the ease of changing out of the bags.

The only thing to note is the EXS frame does not have MOLLE on the shoulder life the men’s do. I got the inreach case as a gift and can’t really use it as the EXS from has slightly different shoulder straps.

Overall the frame, lid, water bottle holder, dry bag and hip belt pockets have exactly as advertised. Easy to assemble, customizable fit, secure, comfortable, durable, great pockets, great customer service and performance in harsh, wet and cold conditions. Could not ask for much more in a pack. I would recommend.

Wife & Daughter Approved!!!

I bought one of these for my wife and daughter to share and this pack has been awesome! I used to have to pack the majority of the weight because they didn't have a pack that worked well enough to pack more than 20lbs. But now I can throw an elk shoulder and more in this pack and they have no complaints! We use it backpacking the rugged mtn in Idaho in the summer and hunting in the fall. Paired with the 3600 bag its perfect "do it all" size for a smaller hunter/backpacker. (Wife and Daughter are 5'6" and 5'7") We've got about 50+ miles on this pack, with no rubs, tears, holes or failures. Both my wife and daughter love the way the hipbelt fits! We've been blessed to packout a handful of mule deer, one bear and one elk in the past 2 years with this pack and its performed perfectly. The pack worked so well that I ended up buying a second one so they each have their own. I am no longer concerned with shooting an elk 3+ miles from the truck with them wearing this pack.

Flawless

I bought the K4 EXS 5000 for my wife, as an anniversary present. We had the opportunity to pack an elk out over 5 miles in 8-10” of snow. She had no complaints on the pack performance hauling 80 to 90 pound loads in 15 degree temperatures. We were in quite a bit of snow, and temperatures were in the single digits overnight. I mention the snow and temps because the environmental conditions can really impact gear performance. Despite the loads and conditions, this pack performs. It is a streamlined comfortable workhorse that has what you want where you want it, and handles whatever you throw at it… cold, wet, heavy…

The functionality and performance is outstanding. As a testament to the comfort, my wife had zero complaints related to the pack during the hunt or pack out. In fact, the day after a two day pack out, she said nothing in her body hurt or was sore.

In short, this pack is flawless.

Great fit for women

I searched all over and was very excited to see this pack design. Just finished my hunt, was successful, and for the first time could help pack out the animal. I have a chronic shoulder issue and had zero issues with the 60lbs I carried off the mountain. All the weight distributed where it should with the hip belt. The pack carried everything I needed. Shoulder straps were the best feature. I am a big girl and the shoulder straps did not hinder movement.
