40+ Elk Hunting Podcasts — Archery vs Rifle, Beginners to Experts, and Everything Else

Now that we are 10+ years into the Hunt Backcountry Podcast, we have dozens upon dozens of episodes on one of our favorite topics — elk hunting. From “expert” elk hunters, like Corey Jacobsen (first appearing in Episode 12) and Paul the “Elk Nut” Medel, to everyday elk hunters who are listeners of the show and have experienced success and failure with lessons to share, there are 100+ elk hunting episodes in the podcast archive.

And we just released a new archery elk hunting podcast with a listener of the show, Jordan, who killed an elk with his bow 8 years straight. Jordan attributed some of his success and consistency to the elk hunting lessons he has learned from our show over the years.

Between Jordan sharing how the podcast helped him, along with celebrating our 10 year anniversary of the podcast, we thought it would be helpful to highlight some of our favorite episodes, listener’s favorite episodes, and elk hunting conversations that explore unique aspects of elk hunting — such as comparing archery to rifle seasons, hunting elk solo, and unique listener experiences.

Below you will find 40+ elk hunting podcast episodes to explore. And if you somehow make it through all of those, you can browse all 100+ episodes that discuss elk hunting.

BORN & RAISED OUTDOORS

Their success in the elk woods over the years — from their home in Oregon, to the furthest reaches of the Rockies — has been inspiring to witness. And, at times, to be a part of. SPECIFIC SERIES

This roundtable series discusses specific topics and listener-submitted questions, then shares the answers and various perspectives from experienced elk hunters: Dan Staton, Corey Jacobsen, Trent Fisher, and Paul Medel.

EXPERT ROUNDTABLE (2019)

This Expert Roundtable is not strictly focused on elk, but the information is too good not to share. We feature 6 experienced, knowledgeable, and successful hunters who provide their insights on a single question or topic in each episode.

The Roundtable consists of Ryan Lampers, Russ Meyer, Kody Kellom, Nathan Jones, Ben Guttormson, and Exo's own, Steve Speck.

ROUNDTABLE (2021)

Like the other roundtable above, this series from 2021 isn't all about elk. But once again, there is so much good information in this series that applies to everyone hunting elk. The guests are Jeff Bloomquist, Darin Cooper, Billy Molls, Charlie Perry, and Steve Speck.
